Guardians of the Galaxy was amazing. Amazingly awesome. I loved every minute of it. It was serious and sad and funny. I laughed out loud at so many different points. I loved Peter Quill and his mother. Gamora and Nebula were amazing. I loved Groot and Rocket, Drax and the prisoner with no leg. I loved the head that people mined. I loved Nova Prime. I could go on and on. I could talk about the movie, about the amazing effects, the sets, the planets, the father(s). I could talk about Marvel crossover and that I can't wait for their next film, but it's going to be a while. So, I'm going to stop. I can only gush for so long.
I suuuuuuuper want to see this movie. I mean, I kind of wanted to see it anyway cos Chris Pratt. (I heart Parks & Rec's Andy) but now I keep hearing such great things about the movie, especially from people who are not necessarily big comic book/marvel/Guardians fans already. Must see.
ReplyDeleteChris Pratt is awesome as Star-Lord. He's totally hot in the movie and really funny, which of course makes him hotter. It's true, you don't need to be a comic fan to enjoy the movie. The story-telling, plot, characters, is just great.
DeleteSo, I ended up seeing it this weekend and YUP, it was fantastic. Loooooove Pratt and I was surprised how well done Rocket and Groot were, cos I was a little worried the CGI would be super noticeable/they would be annoying. I even liked Pace's Ronan, although I was sad to not see MORE of him. I also always think of Pace as Ned the Piemaker, so it's weird to see him in a non-super-sweet role.
DeleteGlad you liked it! I agree that Rocket and Groot looked amazing. I loved the dancing and the way Groot wraps everyone up, it's a beautiful moment during an action packed scene. The makeup hides Pace as Ronan. I didn't even realize who it was.
DeleteI know everyone's talking Guardians/ Avengers team-up but I really don't see that happening (too bloated of a cast and too high salaries), but I don't know why no one's talking a Thor/ Guardians pairing. Those two worlds have already intersected a couple of times in the movies (briefly) and it seems like a good fit.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, yes it was such a great movie. I'm still floored by how much emotion emotion they pulled from a CGI tree-man that only ever said "I am Groot" (okay, once he said something else, but still).
I thought the team-up is part of the Marvel plan... but I could be wrong. I was thinking a Thor/Guardians thing too because of the collector and I agree that would be a good fit.
DeleteI loved Groot. He was so wonderfully done and yes, a lot of emotion. I really liked how well Rocket was done too, though I think a lot of the emotion came out of his voice. I want to watch it again.
