I can't believe it's 2012 already! It's the first Tuesday of 2012 and this week The Broke and The Bookish are asking what books are topping your list for 2012. This list might look similar to my Winter Reads list. But I'm not going to look at it, so maybe not. The list will also likely change.
- Fever, by Lauren DeStefano. This book can't be released quickly enough.
- World War Z, by Max Brooks. As soon as I'm done the book I'm reading now, I'm going to start it.
- The Stand, by Stephen King. This will be the year I finally read King's big book.
- The Little Sister of Eluria, by Stephen King. This will be the last King book on my list, I think.
- The Girl Who Played With Fire, by Stieg Larsson. What has taken me so long?
- The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest, by Stieg Larsson. Really, what has taken me so long?
- The Thousand Orcs, by R.A. Salvatore. Also, what has taken me so long?
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew, The Last Battle, by C.S. Lewis. I feel like it's taking me so long to read this series. I've enjoyed the first four books, why haven't I finished the rest yet?
- The Tent, by Margaret Atwood. What's a year without Atwood?
- Generation X, by Douglas Coupland. I think it's about time.
What are you eager to read in 2012?
You didn't include AgathaC on your list :-) joking....
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the Larsson books, I couldn't get into them.
I do hope you get to read each of them

I still need to finish reading the last book of the Millenium triology!! :) Nice list! :)
ReplyDeleteI've only read Generation X from your list, but it was a long time ago (Before Blogging) and I don't remember much about it. I'm probably going to get to Millennium #2 this year.
ReplyDeleteYay WWZ! Can't wait to see your thoughts on it. And I hope you enjoy the Millenium trilogy better than I did. Well I only made it through the first book but that was enough for me.
ReplyDeleteThe Stand was my introduction to Stephen King, I think, and it's remained my favorite of his until recently, when 11/22/63 unseated it.
ReplyDeleteMarce, I didn't think of her until after. I have five of her books, one unread. I'll have to remedy that this year too.
ReplyDeleteSidne, I hope I get to read them this year too.
nea, I hear the rest of the trilogy is amazing. I can't wait to get to it.
Red, My hubby bought me WWZ and it trumped all the other books in my short stack. I can see how The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo isn't for everyone. Even people I talked to who liked it didn't like all of it.
smellincoffee, I think the second and third Dark Tower books are my favourite of King's. I want to read 11/22/63, but I (sadly) didn't get it for Xmas and I don't really have extra money to be buying it right now. Maybe later this year. (Xmas gets really expensive when you have kids!)
